On 5th July 1984 Maradona switched from Barcelona to Naples for an outrageous transfer fee. The most celebrated football player in the world seemed like a perfect match for the hottest tempered city in Europe. On the pitch Maradona was a genius, and off the field he was treated like a god. For seven years Naples and Maradona seemed unstoppable, Diego performing one soccer miracle after the next.
It was the stuff dreams were made of. But eventually, reality got the better of him.
