George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) is the star of Hollywood’s golden age, capturing the heart of his public with inimitable charm and energy. Living a life of fame and fortune, one day he discovers by accident the talents of young extra Peppy Miller (Bérénice Bejo). But with silent film on the way out and talkies on the way up, both actors suddenly find themselves on the verge between fame and ruin. And while Valentin refuses to believe that talkies are threatening to steamroll his career, for Peppy Miller this new technology is the big break she’s been looking for – the starlet is set to become a famous Hollywood star!

An enchanting homage to the cinema of the Twenties, THE ARTIST is not only hilariously funny, it also imitates the style, tone and plots of the age perfectly.
