The film uses texts from Futurists, Dadaists, Fluxus artists, Suprematists, Situationists and other artistic groups as well as from individual artists, architects, dancers and filmmakers. Julian Rosefeldt worked these manifestos into twelve brilliant collages, also weaving in ideas from Claes Oldenburg, Yvonne Rainer, Kazimir Malevich, André Breton, Sturtevant, Sol LeWitt, Jim Jarmusch and many more besides.
