In a remote mountain region somewhere in Latin America, a rebel militia of teenagers with battle names such as Rambo, Smurf, Bigfoot, Lobo and Boom-Boom practice military manoeuvres. At the same time, they’re assigned a hostage (Julianne Nicholson) and a dairy cow recruited by force to look after by a shadowy guerilla group.
But when an ambush drives the group into the jungle, their complex mesh of relationships is ripped apart and the mission begins to go south.
A Colombian Lord of the Flies, MONOS combines the madness of a Werner Herzog film with the technical perfection of James Cameron.
