No other name is so associated with the discovery of the seas as that of Jacques Yves Cousteau. His crew, the Calypso and of course his signature red beanie are world famous even today. Jacques Cousteau (Lambert Wilson) lives with his wife Simone (Audrey Tautou) and their two sons in a glorious house on the Mediterranean.
Leaving the boys at boarding school, the couple board the Calypso for an expedition on the high seas. But when their grown-up son Philippe (Pierre Niney) returns several years later, he barely recognizes his father: The one-time pioneer has now become a global filmstar and womanizer. During a dangerous expedition in the Antarctic however, father and son grow closer again. At least until fate strikes. Filmed on location in Brazil, South Africa, Croatia and the Antarctic.
THE ODYSSEY is a visually stunning epic, its magic even more striking on the big screen.
